I truely love pincushions. There's something about the small round/square shape that seems like the perfect form that's both restrictive and also let's you be wildly creative. Pincushion posts will be a regular feature I think. The ones I've picked today are all really different and showcase the diversity of the form.
So today we start with a couple of great pincushions made for the November Pincushion Challenge/Swap. You can see all here although they've all been uploaded to flickr by the organizer and I don't have links to the individual artists, sorry. The one above is really interestingly topped with fabric selvege.
Another Pincushion Challenge - this one sorta has a hula skirt - too funny! by Prairie Mouse.
Interesting fabric and texture! Pincushion Challenge from September.
I love this softie chair! It's a pincushion or just a softie by Chenilleno5.
Poodle pincushion at etsy shop boqinana
I really like the linen fabric and simple lace applique. Also the frayed ears - cutest. This by Strawberries and Cream
Finally, this Fortune pincushion with hints of Frida Kahlo made by Lydia Klenck, and for sale on Magic Pony.
