This post is about the accessories of cupcakes, mostly, not the softie cupcakes themselves.
The photograph above is of a beautiful Laduree truck (love the color!) was recently taken in Paris by The Girl Who Ate Everything. Laduree is a great patisserie - they don't have American style cupcakes on the menu, but they do have wonderful, sweet everything else. Check out their site for scrumptious photos of desserts, their beautiful tea rooms, and then send an ecard of their famous macarons to a friend. The photo is so Paris - it makes me want to be there right now.

I had to start today with this gorgeous flickr mash up of (real) pink cupcakes from Mactastic - no wonder so many softie artists are inspired to craft their own versions. Here's a link to a recipe for my all time favorite retro chocolate frosting. Buttercreme frosting is great and easy to work with but it's sometimes a little sweet for me - this chocolate frosting isn't and it's really delish.
