Toshiyuki Fukuda is a Japanese designer and illustrator that I read about last week on Crust Station's blog (see her blog for some of his illustration work). He also designs softies which are unbelievably cute and original! Apparently he's the designer and the softies are made by Yuko Hara.
Today a melange of beautiful silk and tulle flowers by Lyndie Dourthe from France. She's not really a softie maker, but I couldn't resist sharing these photos. She has made some very very nice butterfly and bird pincushions below but the flowers seem to be her signature work. I want the earrings at the bottom of the post...and someplace to wear them. Perhaps I need a little more panache too! :-)
First thing I must put on my 'to-do' list is learn to read Japanese. From a link on Creature Comforts, I came across this Japanese artist Kita Usagi who has a series of postcards called 'hakkadrops' - which seem to be pictures of adorable softie dolls - I assume she makes the softies too, but can't find them for sale on her site - just the postcards. Pictures of softies are nice...actual softies are better. Here's a few more...
