Thank you all!

This is the last post for 2007! I really love the time I spend thinking about this blog and creating themes --  searching for softies and writing about them. Some days it seems like a beast that constantly needs to be fed, but most days it's one of the fun things I do.

So this is my last 'Thank You' post and I'll start on something new for January 2nd. Of course, I only showed a fraction of the talented designers I follow, so if I missed you, please be assured that it's just due to me running out of days on this. As always, I'm happy to get emails with pix of your new work but know that I do read lots of blogs and look through flickr all the time too - so I'm sure to see your softie designs.

Ok, here's a few more...

Winterbanner

A great set of designs from Sewing Stars - I can't wait to see what Teresa comes up with next!

Racoon
Damn. I missed getting my hands on these raccoon ornaments by Yarn and Coffee

Hamster
This is a little hamster cozy by Brooke of Bethany Studios. And a hamster of course. Cutie pie.

Iffbracelet2

Coral bracelet by Gooseflesh. I love everything Helle makes, stuff she doesn't make and every one of her photos of it all.  If I ever get to Australia, I wonder if she would take me on as an intern - I'd just be happy to follow her around and watch her work. Would that be annoying? Helle - would you mind your # 1 fan hanging out with you? :-)

Juliearkell
One of my favorite blogs is Cruststation - she has the best taste and a wide-ranging interest in everything from softies like the ones featured above (by Julie Arkel) to fashion, books, graphic design, home goods, etc.  Plus her pages look unique since she always does an interesting mosaic photo like the one above - always so much too look at and fun links to follow...you'll need some extra time to browse through everything!

More Thanks

Some more designers to love. I wanted to give peoples names with their blogs to honor them, but in some cases, I've only put first names where it seems to me they don't publish their last names and so I'm respecting their privacy.

Weew

One half of a topsy turvy doll by Hillary Lang of Wee Wonderfuls.

Allgood

Love this whimsical little guy with pipe cleaner legs holding on to his own snowman. This by Heide of All Good Wishes

Trees
Happy trees by Heidi Kenney of My Paper Crane

Wreath

Mini felted wool wreath by Cassi of Bella Dia. What a nice thing she's being doing this month on her blog - suggesting Christmas books and crafty activities.

Dog
This cute hat and apparently patient dog is via Whip Up, one of my favorite blogs - thanks Kathreen! The designer of the hat is Dogged

Merry Christmas!

This is a blue net tree my crafty mother made when I was about 10 years old. The tree is long gone, but I'm happy to have to photo to remember.

Blue

Merry Christmas to all!

Giving Thanks!

As you know, I've been neglecting SC for a while as I've moved across the country and still need to find a place to live, etc. But I wanted to take this almost-end-of-the-year moment to thank a lot of crafty girls and softie designers who've encouraged me, inspired me, visited my blog, contributed projects to the Softies book etc. It's been so much fun this blog, and looking for softies to show you is a blast!

So here are a few photos of some of my favorite designers work. I'm going to try and add a few each day for the rest of the year/week.

Littlecotton
Mosaic of Julie's Little Cotton Rabbits knitted toys - what a great holiday picture!

Gertcraftacular2007
Here's clothing made by the very famous Cal Patch of Hodge Podge Farms. That's her little Gertie lying among the stuff at the BUST Craftacular sale in NYC. Gertie's a little camouflaged in the patterns.

Buche

Tasty  Buche de Noel -  I love Kayte's food softies! Yes, that's right, it's by Kayte Terry of This Is Love Forever.

Flor

Monkey Christmas stockings by Floresita. Flor has some great vintage embroidery transfer work too. She has something like ten blogs and twenty five flickr groups, so check them all out. (i exaggerate only a teeny bit)

Rosa

Dolls by the incomparable Rosa Pomar in Lisbon.

Bend_the_rules_fan_blog

Here's an adorable, poseable little guy by Sarah Neuburger of The Small Object. Note that he's holding a copy of Amy Karol's Bend-the-Rules Sewing book!
