And the winners are....
The envelope please....here are your Softie Award winners! There were nearly 3500 votes! Some categories were really close, in fact only 10 votes separated the winner from the runner up in the Animal category - so I hope everyone got a chance to vote. ALL the finalists made wonderful softies.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS!
This is the Award Ribbon each winner will receive along with a prize. Thanks to Cal Patch for whipping up these gorgeous ribbons!
Winners: please email me your full name and address so that I can send you your prize (email link to the left of this post).

That's probably fair, probably knitted animals belong to amigurumi category. But, where and when has that change in rules been published, so other competitors may be aware of that?

Wow! That was very fun. Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you Therese for all your efforts. Factory girl sends her best wishes...she's sleeping off her hangover from the big night.

The original instructions for the Amigurumi category did specify crocheted pieces, but I revised it to allow knitted pieces too. I think all the entries submitted in that category were fine and deserved to be there.
Posted by: Therese | April 02, 2007 at 07:55 AM
Yeah, I was going to point that out too. AND, the category "amigurumi" is so overused. If you look at what it really means, a lot of the submissions in that category didn't fall under it anyway.

The winner for Amigurumi category (Racoon by craftyalien) seems to be knitted felt..... Didn't you specify under "Award Categories" that amigurumi must be crocheted?
I really like little racoon, but shouldn't it have been listed under some other category?
