Another fabulous cupcake artist from England, where so many great knitters live. These today from Little Cotton Rabbits - a selection of fairy cakes (that's cupcakes for us Yanks) in lovely pastel colors with 4-petal flowers on top and pretty seed beads scattered around. What can I say...little felt cupcakes brighten my day. That too cute little rhyme :-) in honor of Too Cute, the designer who created these cute-a-riffic cupcakes. She also makes a fun muffin play set with a brown felt basket and little blue napkins! I love that extra element of imagination - it's the kind of thing kids love to make-belive with - and grown ups too.

Dozens of knitted cupcakes served up today from sunny Sleaford in England! These made for us (by 'us' I mean uh, everyone) by Chrissy and sold in her Etsy store, Chrissy Brown where you can also find tea cozies, oreo cookies and a lemon meringue tart too. I love that they are knitted and softie food is so much fun. Why not put a few out for Thanksgiving along with the Pumpkin pie, or just add a ribbon and tie the cupcakes from the ceiling for a festive look.

Yummy! Beautiful felt pastries from Lovely Candy's Etsy shop! Yuki is the designer/softie artist behind the shop and she's from Japan -- where all the BEST felt food designers are born! She's been crafting for the past 8 years and started her line of felt desserts, knowing how much little girls (and their moms!) love to have tea parties. Yuki lives in Texas now and also makes wonderfully colored ice cream sandwich cookies (pictured below) and you get the 10 piece set for only $12.00! A cupcake is a perfect thing -- it's tasty, sweet, cute and has minimal calories (well, compared to an entire Entemman's cake that is)! And from a design point of view, the cupcake is a charming object that evokes happy childhood memories of picnics and tea parties with your dolls. Is it any wonder that so many softie-makers have experiemented with this icon? Today I'm inventing the Cupcake Wars to showcase all the great cupcake softies that I can find.
So we start with this lovely, classic felt cupcake from the UK. This designer, Oncherrylane uses cashmere felt (oohhhh!) and displays a lovely color sense with the pink frosting and red strawberry on top.
